CALLING ALL GROOMS! There has been a common misconception attached to weddingsgroom, groomsmen, wedding planning, rustic wedding, new england wedding for centuries that the men can’t/won’t/shouldn’t participate in planning their wedding.
It should be left to the bride to make all the decisions because according to this stigma, she is the only one who really cares. HELLO! Of course this isn’t true. These days, there are plenty of grooms that play a major role in planning because there is a newfound focus on making weddings an experience that reflects both the bride and grooms personalities. Here
are four main categories in which grooms simply must participate.

1) Food

This one is a no-brainer. Your wedding night is also a feast. You're going to want to make sure your favorite meals are catered there so be sure to take the time to do tastings with your future spouse! I understand this one is likely the one appointment grooms wouldn't want to miss anyway, but it's worth a reminder. Attending the tasting appointments will allow you the opportunity to really make sure you and your guests are eating well on your wedding night.

2) Music

This one is, in my humble opinion, the most important. You're going to want to dance your face off on your wedding night and you're going to want your guests to join you. Having the right band or dj is integral to this "shake-your-groove-thang" process. By taking the time to really vet the MC of the night will guarantee you have all the jams you need to make your night a blast for everyone involved.

3) Location

So maybe you don't think this one is important. Maybe you're thinking, "I don't care, I'll marry my loved one wherever they want." I understand, and thats selfless of you, but think it through. You're just as much a part of this night as your bride (or groom, of course) and having it take place somewhere that is not only special, but that you feel comfortable is important. Maybe scouting locations isn't really your thing, but take a minute to picture your wedding day and if you have an idea in mind, speak up and become a part of the conversation.

4) Formalwear

A groom choosing his and his groomsmen's outfits could also be a bit of a forgone conclusion, but it's another important reminder. This is your chance to really express yourself and decide GROOM, NEW ENGLAND WEDDING, RUSTIC WEDDING, wedding planninghow you want you and your best men to look that day. You have the opportunity to choose the colors you want, whether you want a suit or a tuxedo, etc. It's a really special, unique opportunity and you'll want to have an active role in finding the right thing to wear because fortunately/unfortunately, pictures are forever.

Many people don’t understand the amount of work goes into planning a wedding, while in reality every single detail of a wedding has been carefully chosen and pored over by an excited bride or groom. Getting married means you are starting a lifelong partnership and by planning a wedding alongside your significant other really can be a really special way to set the tone for your entire marriage. When you look back on that one special day, it will mean so much more knowing that it was something you created and built as a team.
